Peter Ainsworth leads CAMROW. A Cambridge economist and entrepreneur, he has more than 15 years of experience in the financial and investment markets, as well as a deep expertise in statistical risk software and education finance policy.

Setting up his first financial technology company in 1990, Peter led the development of a cutting-edge risk assessment platform that has been widely adopted by financial institutions around the world. He went on to launch or instigate the launch of numerous software and investment products and services.

Having sold his main business, EM Applications, in 2018 he focussed on his area of special interest: how to fund students through university. This was a challenge that drew on his expertise in marketing, financial markets, financial regulation, contracts and litigation combined with his research into the history of student funding arrangements around the world.
